She then traveled to England to attain her LL.B. from the University of Leicester in 2014. While studying abroad, she distinguished herself in a number mooting and client interviewing competitions before receiving several awards for academic excellence and graduating with First Class Honours. Upon her return home, Alissa attended Osgoode Hall Law School to obtain her LL.M. in Canadian Common Law in 2015, where she also devoted time to her position as co-chair of the Speaker Series Committee in providing networking opportunities for fellow students.

Alissa has extensive volunteer experience in the public sector including assisting persons with mental disabilities in making claims for welfare benefits and debt relief at the Community Advice and Legal Services in England and supporting duty counsel in their effort to increase access to justice at the Ontario Court of Justice in downtown Toronto. More recently, she has provided assistance at pro bono legal clinics established by the Refugee Sponsorship Support Program.

Alissa participated in the second-ever cohort of the Law Practice Program, which operates as an alternative to the traditional articling route, with an equal focus on administrative law, business law, family law, criminal law, civil litigation, and real estate and estates law. Alissa then went on to spend six months articling with RV Law where she developed and further refined her skills and competencies in these areas.

Alissa was called to the Bar in June of 2016. Shortly thereafter, she became an associate at RV Law and is now focusing her practice on family law, wills and estates, litigation and mental health law. Alissa is excited to begin her career in the legal profession and is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Ontario Bar Association.

Alissa is empathetic and detail-oriented, and when combined with her passion for the helping others she is a zealous advocate in pursuit of her client’s best interests.

Alissa’s interests include running, thus far having completed two half marathons and her first full marathon last spring. She is also an avid yoga student, ultimate frisbee player, and motorcycle enthusiast.
