Sidney is a graduate of the faculty of law of the University of Victoria, BC, was called to the Ontario Bar in 1991 and has since devoted his practice to serving clients in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
Prior to embarking on his legal career, Sidney earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from York University, majoring in business, political science, and psychology. This diverse academic foundation has equipped him with a well-rounded understanding of various facets of law.
Sidney’s practice is primarily focused on criminal defence and family law with particular emphasis on child support, spousal support, and division of property, parenting/decision-making, and children’s aid.
Sidney’s practice extends to handling personal injury claims (motor vehicle accidents, slip and fall incidents, and product liability), as well as WSIB claims for both employers and employees, Ontario and Canada Pension Disability matters, and various administrative proceedings, including before the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal and the Landlord and Tenant Board.
In addition to the above, Sidney represents both employers and employees in employment law disputes and provides independent legal representation and/or advice in respect of contract and real estate-related transactions.
Sidney places a strong emphasis on maintaining open communication with clients, adopting a client-focused approach, and working efficiently to achieve cost-effective results. Known for his easygoing demeanour, Sidney ensures that his clients feel comfortable and supported throughout the legal process.
Beyond his legal pursuits, Sidney has a passion for astronomy and paleontology. This diverse range of interests reflects his ability to approach cases with creativity and a unique perspective.
